Here’s a console gaming machine that will
exercise more than just your thumbs. The Game Wave
is a DVDbased machine that can handle up to six playplayers using wireless remotes. The basic package includes the DVD player unit, four reniotes, a case for six reniotes, and one game disc: 4 Degrees Arc of Trivia. The included disc and many others available award points on a descending scale as time ticks away and additional clues are presented.

These games have 25 hours of non-repeating questions, and also available are casino and word games; the trivia games are quite good and contain some deceptively challenging questions. Additional game discs and a two-pack of remotes cost $27.99 each. The console connects to a TV via composite RCA-style A/V plugs and an S video connector is also available.

Because they are DVD-based, the games have outstanding graphics and sound effects and many games also include video clips. A bonus feature is the ability to play regular DVDs—great for a permanent setup in the den or dorm room. —OH
